An emotional series of drawings by Nelson Mandela, called the Struggle sequence, served as a motivation for the festival. They portray his hands in five points representing: imprisonment, struggle, freedom, unity and also the future. They also illustrate the inspiration behind actions that Global Citizens have been taking to see the end to poverty in our lifetime.
